Cat Cohen, known for her sharp blend of comedy and musical talent, has released her new single “Blame It On The Moon” today (October 17) via Atlantic Music Group. The track serves as the second single from her highly anticipated debut holiday album, Overdressed, which is set for release on November 15.
Cohen, who currently stars in Hulu's hit series Only Murders in the Building and co-hosts the popular podcast Seek Treatment with Pat Regan, has also premiered a performance video of “Blame It on the Moon” taken from her new comedy special Come for Me. The special is now available on Live Nation’s Veeps streaming service.
Inspiration Behind "Blame It On The Moon"
Reflecting on the song’s inspiration, Cohen humorously revealed, “For years I have been blaming my problems on astrology.” With the creative contributions of David Dabbon (music director and piano player for Come for Me) and producer Couros Sheibani, Cohen said they “brought to life ‘Blame It on the Moon,’ a song for anyone who wants to shirk responsibility and instead blame any inconvenience on the moon, the stars, the tides—anything but one’s own poor decision-making skills.”
Overdressed: A Comedy-Infused Holiday Album
Overdressed features 10 original tracks that showcase Cohen’s signature wit and musical talent, providing a unique, comedic take on life’s chaotic moments. Cohen wrote all the songs on the album and produced it in London with Couros (known for his work with Zayn and Bebe Rexha). The album’s lead single, “can u send me that??”, dropped earlier this month, setting the stage for the full album release.
Cohen’s Veeps comedy special, Come for Me, also features several tracks from Overdressed, making today’s release a double delight for fans eager to experience both her music and comedic brilliance.
